Not helping, people, not helping.

Really?!

Vatican confirms report of sexual abuse and rape of nuns by priests in 23 countries - Europe, World - The Independent (link)
“The Catholic Church in Rome made the extraordinary admission yesterday that it is aware priests from at least 23 countries have been sexually abusing nuns.”
“In extreme instances, the priests had made nuns pregnant and then encouraged them to have abortions.”
“The Vatican reports cited countless cases of nuns forced to have sex with priests. Some were obliged to take the pill, others became pregnant and were encouraged to have abortions. In one case in which an African sister was forced to have an abortion, she died during the operation and her aggressor led the funeral mass. Another case involved 29 sisters from the same congregation who all became pregnant to priests in the diocese.”

Denys: You've ruined it for me, you know.
Karen Blixen: Ruined what?
Denys: Being alone.

Lets hope still.

"The world is indeed full of peril and in it there are many dark places.
But still there is much that is fair. And though in all lands, love is now
mingled with grief, it still grows, perhaps, the greater."

Have I told you before, how much I love The Selby?

I've been a fan for almost 2 years now and I can't get enough. The thing about photographer Todd Selby's work is that he makes what at first sight may look ordinary look absolutely lovely and extraordinary. There's a lightness, a white positive vibe to his shots, that make them remarkable and warm regardless the "white balance" of his choice. His latest collaboration, this time with Dockers, it's one of my favorites. Artistic/Creative/Hands-on people, doing stuff, just the thing I love.

"Here is a sneak peek of some of my favorite images from a series of The Selby shoots sponsored by Dockers.

The idea behind the shoots was to make a series of photos of stylish Bay Area guys living the dream and doing what they love.
The shoots feature David Burnett volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, Andrew and Adam Mariani working in their vineyard, filmmaker Barry Jenkins at his home, Danny Hess shaping a surfboard in his workshop, artist Brian Barneclo painting in his studio, and industrial designer Bobby Chang working at Incase."
